Hardly one and a half year after the ingriguing conference on anonymous latin sermons in Late Antiquity and Early Middle Ages, the conference volume just has been published at Brepols. Matthieu Pignot, editor and organizer of the conference put a lot of effort into this book, which is presented as a coherent collection of papers presented. Among them is also the contribution, which my esteemed collegauge from the Latin department of KU Leuven, Gert Partoens and I penned on two anonymous sermons. Both are based on writings of Augustine, but at least the preacher of the Moissac text use the church father’s ideas as a point of departure to develop his quite remarkable approach to the story of the ‘Woman taken in adultery’. Since this altter text is edited for the first time, it is definitely worth to look into it. The volume or our separate paper can be purchased direct at Brepols.
