An extraordinary invitation reached me on a rainy-gray day in November: Ambassy of Hungary extendet an ivitiation to join the conversation with President of Hungary, Katalin Novák. As it turned out, the meeting was part of the ‘Grant Tour de Belgique’, which the president absolved to counterbalance the otherwise rather – to put it nicely – ‘negative’ image of Hungary in Europa and in Belgium.
The conversation took place as part of her meeting with some representatives of the Hungarian politics, economics and intellectuals based in Belgium. I had the priviledge to represent KU Leuven. The meeting was one of those rare opportunities to address some ‘hot topics,’ such as role of religion in society and the complexities of migration within this context.
