MIKO Workshop

Recently, I received a kind invitation from Francesca Falk, to join MIKO Summer Workshop 2025 and give a paper. MIKO is an abbreviation of the somewhat bumpy title “Migration: Kompetenzen bündeln – Impulse setzen – Grundlagen schaffen,” a research cooperation situated at the Walter Benjamin Kolleg, the interdisciplinary centre of the Uni Bern.

The aim is to bring together researchers working in various migration-related fields across the humanities, social sciences, and cultural studies. This kind of exchange is most welcome, as the field of migration research in the ancient world is still underdeveloped, especially on the methodological level.

After the workshop, I was also invited to apply for membership. Since June 2025, I have been an elected member of the group. I am looking forward to getting involved in MIKO’s activities and to the inspiring exchange with colleagues.
